Texas Rodeo Burgers

Ingredients

  • 500 g 20 % minced beef
  • 1 1/2 tbsp Ranch seasoning
  • 2 hamburger buns
  • 4 slices burger cheese
  • 1 tbsp cowboy butter mix 50g melted butter with 1 tsp Cowboy coffee multi purpose seasoning (or your favourite Texas style seasoning) refrigerate until ready to use.
  • 2 slices beefsteak tomato
  • 6 frozen onion rings defrosted
  • 4 slices bacon cooked crisp, crumbled
  • 1 tbsp jalapeños from a jar
  • 1 tbsp BBQ sauce
  • 2 burger buns

Directions

Step 1 of 11
1
Set up the grill with the flat plancha set at a low heat and insert the grill grates to the main grill set at a high heat.
2
Grill the bacon until very crispy and set aside until cooled. Once cooled, cut or crumble into very small pieces.
3
Add the beef and ranch seasoning to a bowl and mix well with hands. Add additional salt if needed.
4
Divide the meat mixture into 4 equal portions and shape into balls before pressing into burgers using a burger press.
5
Place the defrosted onion rings on the flat plancha over the low heat. Ensure that you turn them occasionally to prevent from burning.
6
Place the burger patties on the grill grates over direct heat for about 4-5 minutes per side, or until the internal temperature reaches 71°c.
7
Just before removing the burgers from the heat, place a slice of cheddar cheese on each patty to melt.
8
While the burgers are cooking, lightly toast the hamburger buns directly over the grill grates.
9
Spread a generous amount of cowboy butter on the bottom half of each toasted bun.
10
Top with a thick tomato slice, 2 cheeseburger patties, 3 onion rings, half of the crumbled bacon, and jalapeño slices. Drizzle with barbecue sauce.
11
Top with a bun and serve warm.
