DIGITAL SMOKER - QUESTIONS & ANSWERS
DOOR IS WARPED - HANGS CROOKED
If the door of the digital smoker has warped or is hanging crooked, you can readjust and adjust it a little. Under the front panel that needs to be removed there are 2 screws that can be loosened. You can then align and adjust the door a little on the "hinge". Once the door has reached the correct position, tighten the screws again. Now the panel is put back on the smoker and the smoking pleasure can continue.
CAN I ALSO USE THE DIGITAL SMOKER FOR COLD SMOKING?
Unfortunately, cold smoking with the Digital Smoker is not possible because the temperature range is between 38 °C and 135 °C. The average temperature required for cold smoking is between 15°C and 25°C.
CAN I USE AN EXTENSION CORD?
For optimal performance, we recommend that you do not use an extension cable. If you must use an extension cord, please note the following for safety reasons:
  • Use a cable suitable for outdoor use
  • Rated at 13 amps
  • Marked with a sticker "Suitable for use with outdoor equipment"
  • Use an extension cable that is as short as possible. Do not connect 2 or more extension cords together
  • Use an extension cord that is rated for the appropriate wattage that your grill or smoker has
  • Do not use an extension cable that is designed for a low wattage, as this can cause damage to the house wiring
  • Keep the connections dry and off the floor
  • Don't let the cord hang over the edge of the table top or other objects where children could pull or trip over it.

REPLACEMENT PARTS FOR MY CHAR-BROIL GRILL (MODELS FROM THE USA)
Our grills have been specially developed and adapted for the European market and are therefore different to the American Char-Broil models. Unfortunately this means we cannot supply any replacement parts for American grills. However, there are individual retailers in Germany who have specialized in the sale of such replacement parts. If you have any doubts, we recommend you contact your local dealer where you purchased your product.
WHERE TO FIND THE SERIAL NUMBER
The serial number may be located in different places on the grill, depending on the model (images 1 and 2). Often, it is inside the grill, on the lid, over the doors or on the back of the grill.

In any case, the serial number (often a letter followed by 15 numbers) appears on the large grey label within a smaller silver label (Image 3). The serial number is not on the box in which the grill is delivered.

DIGITAL SMOKER: LED SCREEN IS HARD TO READ AND DULL
As with any LED screen, over time it will become dull and hard to read. When storing you smoker keep it out of direct sun light and covered, if possible. Refer to your manual on how to replace the display screen, if necessary.
FI-SCHUTZSCHALTER WIRD AUSGELÖST, WENN ICH MEINEN DIGITAL SMOKER VERWENDE
Your smoker uses a low 750 watt heat output and low ampere consumption so tripping your GFIC circuit will be unlikely. If the GFIC circuit pops, check the following:
  • Check if the heating element has a rust spot, hole, etc. where moisture can get inside the heating element and trip the GFCI.
  • Check the electrical connection access location on the back of the smoker.
  • Check if the gaskets are in place to prevent water intrusion.
  • Check if the electrical contacts are free of rust and are not damaged or loose (refer to your Manual, if needed.)
DIGITAL SMOKER WON'T TURN ON
The digital timer, temperature and the heating element is shut off and won't turn on. Your smoker is equipped with a thermostat (high limit safety shut off) to give added safety in case of electrical failure within the appliance and could be damaged. Unplug and reconnect the thermostat by removing the cover plate located on the back of the smoker and try again. If that doesn’t solve this issue the thermostat will need to be replaced. Refer to your Manual, on how to locate and replace the thermostat.
DIGITAL SMOKER: THE DOOR ISN’T SEALING
The door is equipped with silicone gasket that may need adjustment after extended use. There are three screws that hold the adjustable bracket that is attached to the door. These screws are used to adjust the door for proper sealing.
THE TIMER AND THE TEMPERATURE SEEM TO WORK, BUT THE HEATING ELEMENT DOES NOT GET HOT
Unplug and reconnect the heating element by removing the cover plate located on the back of the smoker and try again. If that doesn’t solve this issue the heating element will need to be replaced. Refer your manual on how to locate and replace the heating element.
